Dear Members,

Further to the recent email informing you of the serious fire at the clubhouse we now wish to update you with further details.
We have been overwhelmed with the offers of help from members and other organisations. We are very grateful for the support and no doubt will avail of many of the offers in the near future.
It was good to meet with many of the members who came down to the Club on Sunday afternoon. It was on opportunity to share the sadness of the recent events and to and be encouraged by the determination to move forward through the difficulties to a positive future for CSC.
Clubhouse - The clubhouse has been inspected by building control who have advised us that the building and its surroundings are an area of danger. We now have the area fenced off and warning signs displayed.
Boat shed - We have also been advised that the boatshed is off limits as it is at risk of damage if the clubhouse gable end collapses.
Starting Battery - We have access to the starting battery without risk via the slipway side of the boathouse.
Boat Park - Boat park access should continue as normal, but the will be disruption to the water supply. Water supplies can still be obtained by kind agreement of Carrick Marine Projects.
Correspondence/Subscriptions/Boat Park Fees - Please address all correspondence to the Club address as usual, it will be delivered to the Marina Office and collected from there.
Sailing activities - We are pleased to inform you that all sailing activities will continue as usual beginning with Tuesday night’s racing. It would be great to see a large turnout on Tuesday night – even if you are not a regular competitor we would encourage you to take part in whatever way is enjoyable to you and your crew. Tea & Coffee will be available in the Marina conference room after racing on Tuesday.
Junior Sailing will continue as normal on Wednesdays and we will be using the Sea Cadets' building, which has been kindly offered to us.
Sailing courses will also take place as scheduled.
Cruising activities continue with the Rathlin Cruise on next Saturday 30th June. There will be a skippers' briefing after racing on Thursday – you will be advised of the venue in a further email.
We will keep all members updated regularly and we would ask for your patience over the next ten days as we address the immediate issues.
